Please remember the Foodbank this harvest

18th September 2019

In August we received 2,300 kg of food donations from generous people. In the same time we distributed over 3,300 kg of food. Similarly we provided 244 emergency supplies to people in crisis in August this year compared to 164  last year – an increase of almost 50%.

In the past few years the Foodbank has really appreciated donations from churches, schools and community groups around harvest time. In turn, these donations have helped feed those in the Truro area facing unexpected financial difficulty.  We would be extremely grateful for donations now to replete stocks. It is still the case that tinned tomatoes, tinned fruit, long life fruit juice and coffee are very much required. However, all donations of packet and tinned food are most welcome.

A TYPICAL FOOD BOX INCLUDES:

  • Breakfast cereals
  • Soup
  • Pasta
  • Rice
  • Pasta sauce
  • Tinned beans
  • Tinned meat
  • Tinned vegetables
  • Tinned fruit
  • Tea or coffee
  • Sugar
  • Biscuits
  • Snacks

It is unclear what will happen come 31st October and Brexit but it would be really helpful to top up our stocks to be able to assist given any eventuality.

THANK YOU.
