The Trussell Trust runs the largest network of food banks in the UK, giving emergency food and support to people in crisis. Fourteen million people live below the poverty line and in the last year 1,9 million three-day emergency food supplies were distributed to people in crisis.
Matthew has used his “lunch money” to buy food for our Foodbank.
Sky engineers have been receiving a daily £5 Tesco voucher from their company to buy lunch while working TV and internet jobs. Matthew told us that he didn’t need this and so he and his partner went to Tesco and spent £150 on food for people in food crisis in the Truro area.
